Native BTC, One Transaction, No Wrapping

BOB (Build on Bitcoin) is a Bitcoin L2 whose Gateway product does one thing well: native BTC in, the asset you actually want out, no wrapping in the middle. As of today it's a route on LeoDex.

When you quote BTC to USDC on LeoDex, BOB Gateway now competes in the same quote as every other route we run. You see every route. You swap the best one. When BOB wins on price, you send one Bitcoin transaction from your own wallet and the stablecoins land on the chain you picked.

No wrapped BTC. No exchange account. No bridge token sitting in between. Your BTC stays yours until the moment the swap settles.

I've been burned by wrapped Bitcoin before. During the Justin Sun / WBTC fight I pulled my WBTC out of MakerDAO right before the run to $100k+ because I didn't trust the wrapper. That mistake cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars. Native routes make the question go away, and BOB Gateway is the cleanest native BTC route we've plugged in so far. The reason is the next section.

What Makes BOB Gateway Different

BOB Gateway is built on what they call Bitcoin intents. Instead of you bridging, wrapping and then swapping, you state what you want — "0.05 BTC into USDC on Base" — and professional solvers compete to fill it.

Three things set it apart:

• The solver commits first. Output assets are locked in a smart contract before you send a single satoshi. If a BTC-in order can't be filled at the quoted terms, you're refunded automatically (in USDT on Ethereum), not stranded.
• Bitcoin verifies the settlement. BOB runs an onchain Bitcoin light client that checks your transaction proof directly. No oracle, no custodian attestation. Neither LeoDex nor BOB ever holds your funds.
• Gas is handled for you. Destination gas comes out of the swap, so it settles on Base or Arbitrum even if the receiving wallet holds zero ETH.

How It Works

1. Go to https://leodex.io. Pick BTC as what you're sending and USDC, USDT or ETH on a supported chain as what you're receiving
2. Compare routes — BOB shows up next to THORChain, Chainflip, MAYAChain and NEAR Intents with its output and fees
3. Choose the BOB route and enter the destination address
4. Send one Bitcoin transaction from your wallet or to the deposit address shown
5. BOB's solver settles the swap once your transaction is verified onchain; LeoDex tracks it to completion

Swapping out to BTC works the same way in reverse, with a signature from your EVM wallet instead of a Bitcoin send.

A Few Things to Watch Out For

• Bitcoin confirmations set the pace. Most BOB orders complete in around ten minutes, but congestion on the Bitcoin network can stretch that to an hour.
• Quotes move. If you stepped away, re-quote before you send, and check the itemized fees.
